May 14, 2007:

We have registered FUCS project to sourceforge.net Waiting on Acceptation.

May 7, 2007:

This week we plan to finish the core elements with the pipeline model. Decoding x86 opcodes and simulating fetch/decode/uOps/execute as far as we can so that we will be able to simulate our test bench program by next monday.

April 30, 2007:

Still much work to be done. Rewrote parts of libfucs in order to accomplish read/write access to memory with page protection (RWX). We can load any file into our memory !! Work in progress in event handling. User interface is getting results (see screenshots !).

April 24, 2007:

Software design has been accepted. We had to learn how automake/autoconf tools worked. After many hours of try/success/failure, we eventually managed to get a fully compilable distribution in both gzipped and bziped tar archive !!! Please be aware that this is a very early stage of development. At the moment, only needed interfaces has been coded. And not fully implemented yet. A test suite has been written to ensure unit test. Most of the libfucs code still to be written but work will now focus on the GUI and the bottom layers of the architecture.

April 17, 2007:

We had some design discussion about both graphical appearance and internal simulation engine. We have found that simulating a real processor from A to Z is almost impossible due to the time constraints. We are going to factorize what can be and simulate the same behavior but without all the hassle of each and every component a CPU really have inside !

Tasks have also been given to Laurent, in charge of designing the User Interface. Olivier is coding the simulation engine. We are doing this using a black box principle.

April 10, 2007:

Exams are done. We are back to work. Getting back to where we left the project. Olivier read some literature about the way processor are designed using papers found on Internet (see Docs). We have re-qualified RSA coding and simulation as a secondary objective.

March 20, 2007:
